Looking forward to the week. I am going to try and focus on adding running and my bike back into the mix. My cardio needs help. I especially miss running, but have allowed the excuse of having to walk the dogs get in the way of that. But really I can in fact do both. And I should. Kata work is coming along and I feel very strongly about my sparring. But it really needs to be more focused. I need to make and stick to a program. It is beyond important.
Mondays training went very well. I did some recovery work taking the dogs for a walk and then some strength training with burpees and kettlebell swings I had a great time fifnishing that work out in 5 min 11 seconds. We also worked on Zurchers squats which I totally hate, and some rows. the new strength programming is quite nice. I then finished the nigth with some kickboxing work. My day job has been getting in the way but hey I gotta eat and keep the lights on. But every workout felt good I didnt feel like I was pushing into the red zone very often, but comfort is when you know its time to push harder. I need to start preparing for tournament travel, and having a plan for competition.
Yesterday was all about the cardio. And it felt difficult towars the end. A 75 min kickboxing sesh was the logest I ve worked out not on my bike in some time. And judging from my recovery score I need to do more of them. It is time to once again get out the ratchet and dial up the training again. I am getting ready to go into the busy part of my week. I dont know how my Wed-Friday have ended up so busy with class, but it is a good and bad thing. Bad in that I have to find new time to train and good because I love coaching. But I think my real game changer is going to be adding in time on the weekends. I am going to take full advantage of the cold months and really level up!
Feeling a ton better after yesterday's work out. Strong Kettlebell squat cleans and bear crawls folowed up by a late Kickboxing sesh. Really worked out the soreness and lactic aci from Monday. I am going to try and change my morning routine up a bit. And strech while I listen to my class lectures. I am also feeling really motivated for class planning. But we all know that discipline beats motivation and I just need to commit to writing those plans. Every. Single. Day.
Man Sparring felt so so good yesterday. I havent felt that fast in a long long time. my combos hit my cuts were all fire! I was in the zone last night. I have however decided that foot work focus is going to take over our sparring class. We need to be faster and be able to cut our angles better. Tournament season will be here before we know it. And we need that work. This weekends traing is going to consit of riding my Bike and kata work. And I look forward to intigrating more strecthing and mobility in next week as well. Keep up the strong work fighters and until next time, Train hard! Fight fast! and Score first! ASAI
